The Voltigeurs are in town
GATINEAU – The Gatineau Olympiques will renew with a familiar face Friday night at the Slush Puppie Centre when the Drummondville Voltigeurs come to the Outaouais.
This will be the 4th and final clash between the two teams this season. It will also be the return of forward Alexis Gendron to Centre Slush Puppie. Gendron brought the crowd to its feet more than once during the 2022-2023 season, collecting 81 points in 63 games, including 55 goals. His team is currently having a very good run, occupying 2nd place in the overall standings with 65 points.
For Benoit Desrosiers’ men, this game will be the perfect opportunity to continue the team’s progress, particularly in the second half of the season, with 6 wins in their last 7 games.
The Olympiques are still in a heated battle for a playoff spot. Gatineau is currently ranked 17th, tied with the Quebec Remparts (16th), and only two points behind the Saint John Sea Dogs.
Those same Sea Dogs will be at the Slush Puppie Centre this Sunday, starting at 3 p.m., to celebrate Hully’s birthday.
