The Olympiques reinforce their hockey department with three new appointments
GATINEAU – The Gatineau Olympiques are pleased to announce three key appointments within their hockey department ahead of the 2026–2027 season. Éric Labrosse joins the organization as an assistant coach, Anthony Beauchamp has been named strength and conditioning coach, and Olivier Desroches will serve as video coach.
These three hires round out the hockey staff led by General Manager Sébastien Charpentier and Head Coach Serge Beausoleil, while strengthening the organization’s expertise in several key areas of player development.
Éric Labrosse Named Assistant Coach
A 46-year-old native of Wawa, Ontario, Éric Labrosse has an impressive track record behind the bench. He has served as an assistant coach in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats, in addition to coaching at the professional level in France as well as in Canadian college, Junior AAA, and U18 AAA leagues.
More recently, he enjoyed great success with the Northern Manitoba Blizzard of the MJHL, where he was named Coach of the Year in 2023–2024 before leading his team to the league championship and a spot in the national tournament. His expertise also earned him a spot on the Canada West coaching staff for the World Junior A Challenge in 2024 and 2025.
Anthony Beauchamp Returns to the Olympiques
A former player for the Gatineau Olympiques, Anthony Beauchamp is returning to the organization after a professional career that took him to the ECHL with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, the Trois-Rivières Lions, and the Florida Everblades, before concluding his career with the Amiens Gothiques in France.
A native of Thurso, Beauchamp also has a strong academic background. He holds a master’s degree in clinical physiology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in sports science and human development. His scientific expertise and experience as a high-level athlete will enable him to provide players with guidance focused on performance, injury prevention, and physical development.
Olivier Desroches Named Video Coach
The Olympiques are also welcoming Olivier Desroches as video coach.
In recent years, he has held various coaching positions within the student sports network (RSEQ), notably as head coach of the M15 program at Pointe-Lévy High School during the 2025–2026 season.
With the Olympiques, he will be responsible for analyzing games, studying opponents, and preparing video clips for coaches and players. His work will directly contribute to the team’s strategic preparation as well as the individual development of the players.
