The Olympiques recall Maxim Hamel

GATINEAU – Gatineau Olympiques general manager Serge Beausoleil announced on Friday that goalie Maxim Hamel has been called up on an emergency basis.

This recall comes as goalie Danai Shaiikov will be sidelined for an indefinite period. Shaiikov had to leave the October 2, 2025, game against the Charlottetown Islanders at the Slush Puppie Center.

He will be reevaluated on a daily basis.

This means that Hamel will be in the lineup tonight (Friday) in Sherbrooke.

An 11th-round pick in 2024, Hamel currently plays in the junior AAA league with the Gatineau Flames. The Outaouais native played last year with the Long Island Gulls 16U AAA.
