The Gatineau Olympiques Respond to the Decision Regarding the Memorial Cup Host Selection
GATINEAU – The Gatineau Olympiques were disappointed to learn that their bid to host the Memorial Cup was not selected.
Although the outcome was not what they had hoped for, the organization fully respects the selection process and would like to congratulate the finalist cities that will have the privilege of hosting this prestigious championship.
The Olympiques also wish to highlight the exceptional work accomplished by the bid committee, which devoted time, energy, and expertise to preparing a comprehensive, ambitious bid that met the highest standards.
“We are obviously disappointed with the result, but extremely proud of the quality of the work carried out by our committee. Their commitment and professionalism enabled us to present a strong bid that showcased our organization, our region, and our community. We sincerely thank them for all the effort they put into this project,” said Norm MacMillan of the Gatineau Olympiques.
The organization would also like to thank its many partners, the various levels of government, the City of Gatineau, Tourisme Outaouais, its sponsors, and all the supporters who have enthusiastically backed the bid since the beginning of the process.
The Olympiques remain committed to their mission of promoting junior hockey in the region and continuing to provide a first-rate experience for their fans, both on and off the ice.
