Serge Beausoleil named interim Olympiques head coach
GATINEAU – The Gatineau Olympiques announced Tuesday that General Manager Serge Beausoleil will assume the role of interim head coach for an indeterminate period.
This announcement follows the departure of Benoit Desrosiers for a new challenge.
Beausoleil compiles a record of 426 wins in 765 games behind a QMJHL bench, all with the Rimouski Océanic.
The man who ranks 10th in QMJHL history for number of wins led the Océanic to the finals in his first season and won the President’s Cup in 2015.
“I’m happy for Benoit. He’s a hard worker who aspired to a lot. His qualities as a coach are recognized. For my part, I must continue the work begun with our organization to ensure the transition, and maintain our goal, which is to make the playoffs.” -says Serge Beausoleil.
Please note that no comment on Benoit Desrosiers’ departure will be made until his destination is known.
