NHL Central Scouting final rankings now available
Several players from the 2020-2021 edition of the Gatineau Olympiques are on the NHL Central Scouting’s final list.
Not surprisingly, Zach Dean, #14 of the Olympiques, is the highest ranked player, he is ranked 21st in North American skaters. With his 20 points in 23 games, Zach Dean had a great season. He has improved considerably and has become a more complete player.
He is followed in 75th place by defenseman Isaac Belliveau. Isaac arrived mid-season and had a great second half of the year. He quickly became a trusted member of Louis Robitaille’s blue line. He also more than doubled his offensive production from the first half of the season.
At 108th, Olympiques forward and captain Manix Landry. Manix has been on a meteoric rise this season. His points per game have been the best of his QMJHL career, as has his +/- record at +10.
Giant defenseman Evgenii Kashnikov is next at 130th. Arrived in February, Evgenii was able to quickly take his chance with the organization. His 5 points are only 2 behind his total from last season and that’s in 51 less games. His ranking would have been much lower if he had been able to play a full season.
The 5th Olympiques player to earn a spot on the final list is goalie Emerik Despatie. He is ranked 5th among North American goaltenders, just behind the first QMJHL representative in this category, goalie Olivier Adam of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada. Despite a very unusual season, Emerik managed to improve his save percentage from 0.850% to 0.890% and his average from 4.37 to 2.52. Impressive statistics for the 2nd year goaltender.
Congratulations guys! Good luck at the draft, we’re behind you!
