A hunter’s mentality
QUEBEC – The Olympiques embark on an important trip to the provincial capital in a double-header on Friday (March 8) and Saturday (March 9) against the Québec Remparts.
With only 7 games to play this season, all points will be important for Serge Beausoleil’s troupe to gain a few rungs in the standings for the playoffs. The Olympiques (15th) are neck-and-neck (at the time of writing) with the Shawinigan Cataractes (14th) and the Charlottetown Islanders (13th) with a total of 54 points.
In an interview earlier this week, general manager and interim head coach Serge Beausoleil stressed that his players will have to play with the knife between their teeth between now and the end of the season.
“These will be two very big games against Quebec. I still think we have to be the hunters and not the hunted. The guys are responding well so far, they’re receptive. Lately, when we move our feet and converge in front of the net, great things happen,” he points out.
Remparts fight for survival
Occupying 17th place in the QMJHL with 42 points, the Remparts are currently fighting for a spot in the end-of-season playoffs. The battle between Saint John and Quebec City promises to be an interesting one between now and the end of the regular season. Let’s bet the Remparts will be playing with urgency this weekend.
