Inspired by its partner BMR, the QMJHL highlights every month student-athletes who, through hard work and perseverance, are building their future both on the ice and in school.<\/p>\n

The selection is made following a consultation conducted by the Director of the QMJHL Education Program, Val\u00e9rie Monette, with the teams’ educational advisors.<\/p>\n

“These student-athletes caught our attention as much for their brilliance on the ice as for their commitment to their studies, said Ms. Monette. The QMJHL office, team managers and players are working together to build a solid foundation for the future, both in sports, academics and personal development. Yes, we strive for excellence in sports, but above all, we strive to develop strong and committed citizens.”<\/p>\n

Connor MacPherson<\/a><\/span>, a business student at St Mary’s University, is the latest to take the honours for the Mooseheads and the final one for the 2025-26 season. He joins Owen Phillips (February), Quinn Kennedy (January), Danny Walters (December), Nick Cirka (November), Amelio Santini (October) and Lincoln Waugh (September) as Halifax players to earn the nod this season.<\/p>\n

The 18 recipients of the month were selected by the teams’ educational advisors, who play a central role in the educational development of our players. Witnessing their perseverance on a daily basis, they support them in building a solid path, guided by discipline and passion.<\/p>\n

2026-04-08<\/p>\n

Halifax Mooseheads defenceman Malik L’Italien<\/span><\/a> was named to the QMJHL’s All-Rookie Team<\/span><\/a> on Wednesday. The 16-year-old from Montreal, QC was the third overall pick in the 2025 QMJHL Entry Draft by the Mooseheads.<\/p>\n

L’Italien played in all 64 games during the regular season and contributed 24 points with four goals and 20 assists. He was the highest scoring 16-year-old defenceman in the league and finished third in scoring amongst all rookie blueliners.<\/p>\n

The other defenceman on the All-Rookie Team is Moncton Wildcats 18-year-old American Tommy Bleyl. The forwards consist of Saint John Sea Dogs phenom Alexis Joseph – who was the first overall pick in the 2025 Entry Draft. Victoriaville Russian imports Egor Shilov and Alexey Vlasov both cracked the squad. The top rookie goalie is Drummondville’s Jan Larys, an import pick from Czechia.<\/p>\n
