Moose take Game One 5-1
MacKinnon, Frk pace Moose with 2 goals a piece

 

The Metro Centre was electric Friday night in the heart of Moose Country as the Herd skated to a 5-1 win over their rivals, the Moncton Wildcats, in Game 1 on the 2012 QMJHL Playoffs.  The Mooseheads trailed 1-0 early on a Wildcats powerplay goal by James Melindy.  However, shortly after that a beautiful individual effort by Nathan MacKinnon would bring the 7,100 plus to their feet to tie the game and there was no looking back after that by the Moose.  Marty Frk would chip in with 2 goals of his own along Jonathan Drouin, who tallied his first QMJHL playoff goal.  Zach Fucale made 17 saves in the victory as the Herd outshot the Widlcats 40-18.
