2025-05-08
Goaltender Jacob Steinman was rewarded for his incredible season between the pipes on Thursday, when the QMJHL named him to the league’s 1st All Star Team for 2024-25.
Steinman recently wrapped up his final season in the Canadian Hockey League with the Halifax Mooseheads by guiding the team to a 1st Round playoff upset of the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He led the QMJHL with an average of more than 35 saves per game in the playoffs while posting a save percentage of .919 and a 3.17 goals against average. His stellar playoff performance came after he combined for 29 wins during the regular season in 52 games played, split between the Mooseheads and Moncton Wildcats. His goals against average of 2.41 and save percentage of .923 were both second amongst his peers.
The 20-year-old goalie was traded to the Mooseheads from Moncton in January along with two second round draft picks and a fourth round pick in exchange for goalie Mathis Rousseau and forward Logan Crosby. He will attend NCAA Division 1 – Bowling Green University in the fall.
