BMR Student-Athletes of the Month – September

Inspired by its partner BMR, the QMJHL highlights its student-athletes each month who, through their hard work, perseverance and commitment, are building their future, both on the ice and in the classroom.

The selections are made following a consultation conducted by the QMJHL’s Education Program Director, Valérie Monette, with the League’s academic advisors.

The Student of the Month for the Halifax Mooseheads is defenceman Cam Minella who is a Grade 12 student at Woodlawn High School in Dartmouth, NS.

“These student-athletes have distinguished themselves through both their excellence on the ice and their commitment to their studies,” said Ms. Monette. “At the QMJHL, we believe that a future is built on solid foundations. The League office, teams excutives and players all work together to establish these foundations, which are athletic, academic and personal. We strive for excellence on the ice, but also for the development of young people who can build a path of their own and become engaged citizens. I would also like to thank BMR for their support.”

The 18 recipients of the month were selected by the teams’ academic advisors, who play a central role in supporting the educational development of our players. Witnessing their perseverance on a daily basis, they guide them as they build a path grounded in discipline, effort and passion.

Just like a construction project that takes shape on solid foundations, every step matters. The efforts invested today help build tomorrow’s successes.
