Islanders acquire Cameron Haye in trade deal with Sherbrooke Phoenix

Charlottetown, PE — The Charlottetown Islanders have acquired Cameron Haye in a trade deal with Sherbrooke Phoenix who will receive a 2027 3rd round pick and a 2029 4th round pick.

Haye played 52 games with Phoenix during their 2025-26 season, collecting 9 points (3G & 6A). General Manager and President, Scott Harris says this trade will be great longterm for Charlottetown.

"We are excited to add Cameron to our roster. He brings hard skill, offensive ability, and another layer of depth to our forward group. Having already played in the QMJHL as a 16-year-old, he brings valuable experience to our lineup," says Harris. "Cameron showed significant potential in his draft year, and our scouting staff believes he can reach that potential and become an impactful player at the QMJHL level. We look forward to getting him to Charlottetown and continuing his development as part of our group."

"Cameron is a skilled, energetic forward. He’s a reliable two-way center who is coming off his rookie season in the league and is exactly the right age and type of player we are excited to add to our core," says Assistant General Manager and Head Scout, Kevin Hill."

The Islanders have one last preseason game before starting their regular season. They will be hosting Cape Breton, Sunday, September 6th at Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre. Puck drop will be 3:00 p.m. with tickets available here or in person at the Eastlink Centre Box Office.

Charlottetown, PE — Three more player reassignments come after Saturday's preseason rematch against the Halifax Mooseheads in Simmons Sports Centre. The Charlottetown Islanders have reassigned the following players to their respective junior teams:

The Islanders have one last preseason game before starting their regular season. They will be hosting Cape Breton, Sunday, September 6th at Cavendish Farms Wellness Centre, Montague, PE. Puck drop will be 3:00 p.m. with tickets available here or in person at the Eastlink Centre Box Office.

Islanders fall 3-2 in tight rematch against the Mooseheads

Charlottetown, PE — The Islanders were back in PEI in front of a big home crowd Saturday for a preseason rematch against the Halifax Mooseheads after a tough loss on Wednesday falling 5-1. Head Coach John Mitchell finally got his first start behind the bench for the Islanders after spending the past three preseason games from the stands scouting players. Jack Carter, sitting at 6'1", got the start between the pipes for the Islanders with Carson Mertz tending the opposing side. The Islanders penalty kill got a lot of practice in the first period, recording three minors. The Mooseheads Mateo Nobert capitalized on their first power play opportunity scoring 7:50 into the first 20. Halifax started the 2nd with a 26 second man-advantage as William Shields finished off his roughing penalty. A solid Mooseheads penalty kill was overshadowed by Anthony Flanagan who hit the breaks opening up a shot from the circle. The initial miss turned into an opportunity for Hudson Armstrong to put it past Mertz tying up the game. That was just the start of the eventful and physical period. Daniel Walters didn't let the Islanders have excitement for long scoring less than two minutes later to take back the lead. Samuel Fishbone did the Islanders a favour going to the penalty box. Charlottetown used the power play to make it 2-2 which would be the final score heading into the last 20. Pushing and shoving was the name of the game in the final frame with five more penalties being served. Game stayed tied before Nobert picked up his second, sneaking one through the arm of Carter. That would be the only goal scored in the third, securing the Mooseheads second win over the Islanders in their preseason matchups. The Charlottetown Islanders Ball Hockey Jamboree presented by Subaru of Charlottetown

Charlottetown, PE — Registration for the Charlottetown Islanders Ball Hockey Jamboree is back and is proudly presented by Subaru of Charlottetown. This FREE event will take place on September 12th at Subaru of Charlottetown's parking lot. The Jamboree is open to U7 & U9 age groups and will be put into teams of four. Each team will have the opportunity to play four 10 minute games. Note that players will need their own sticks and helmets to participate. There is no entry fee for teams, and the schedules for the day will be released on September 8th. Each team of four will receive four Islanders T-shirts, along with four ticket vouchers for a free U-13 ticket to our Home Opener against the Moncton Wildcats on Friday, September 18th at 7:00 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre. Islanders drop one on the road in preseason matchup against Mooseheads

Halifax, NS — Despite shots on goal being tight, the Charlottetown Islanders take a loss on the road against the Mooseheads in their third preseason game. Vincenzo D'Urso got the start between the pipes for the Islanders, playing the full 60 minutes. Jack Fichtdhorn tended the other end for Halifax. The Mooseheads opened the score 7:52 into the 1st period. Evan Knee had a wrap around opportunity, sneaking it past D'Urso making it 1-0. Halifax made quick work of it, getting another one on the board just over a minute later. Cole MacLeod, with the help of Patrick McNab and Jack Cameron, got two up on the Islanders. Samual Fishbone kept the Mooseheads momentum going early in the second period, capitalizing on an Islanders error. Fishbone got the steal, and took it end to end popping it in the back of the net. After getting set up in the offensive end, Charlottetown finally got themselves a tick on the board. Ryan Jewer made a shot into traffic giving Teddy Farren the chance to deflect it into the back of the net securing themselves their one and only goal of the game. The Mooseheads finished off the second period making it 4-1 heading into the second intermission. The final twenty minutes went scoreless until tick tack toe action gave the Mooseheads a four goal lead in the third period. Paul Sintschnig had speed down the ice playing tag with Brady Smith before putting it over the shoulder of D'Urso giving the Mooseheads extra insurance. Halifax edged the Islanders in shots, 37-36. The Islanders continue their 2026 Training Camp schedule, presented by ADL, Saturday, August 29th at 4:00 p.m. at the Simmons Sports Centre getting a rematch against the Mooseheads. Islanders’ annual Season Ticket BBQ

Charlottetown, PE — The Charlottetown Islanders are inviting season ticket holders, corporate parters, owners, and billets to our annual Season Ticket BBQ on Friday, September 4th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Eastlink Centre. Players and staff will be in attendance. There will be a BBQ and non-alcoholic beverages for everyone and the event is open to all ages. The BBQ will be an opportunity for a fun, informal gathering to kick-off the season and show appreciation for the Islanders season ticket holders, and will be a great chance to meet the players.

Islanders Acquire Hugo Charron In Trade Deal With Cape Breton

Charlottetown, PE — After a trade deal with Cape Breton, the Charlottetown Islanders have acquired forward Hugo Charron in exchange for a 2028 3rd-round pick and a 2028 8th-round pick. The Québec native played 48 games with the Eagles during the 2025-26 season collecting nine points (4G & 5A). The 18-year-old sits 6' tall and 194lbs. General Manager and President, Scott Harris, says Charron fits the game the Islanders are trying to instil this season.

“We are excited to add Hugo to our roster. He brings an element to our forward group that we believe is important to us: a high level of competitiveness and physicality, combined with skill," said Harris. "Hugo is highly regarded as both a teammate and a person, and we believe he will add an important dimension to our team and how we want to play. We look forward to welcoming Hugo to Charlottetown and into training camp. His addition creates another layer of competition within our forward group as we continue to build and finalize our opening-night roster.”

The 2026 Training Camp presented by ADL continues Monday with Game 2 of the Cusson Cup at 3:45 p.m. at Simmons Sports Centre. Game 3 will take place Tuesday at 3:45 p.m.
