Isles take a trip to Cape Breton
The Charlottetown Islanders roll into Cape Breton to take on the Eagles in a matinée affair.
The Isles are coming off of a 4-3 shootout loss at the hands of the Halifax Mooseheads. The Eagles have lost two straight games, including a 4-2 loss to the Isles and a 2-1 loss to Moncton.
Aksels Ozols will get his third straight start of the season in Cape Breton. He is 6-5 with a 3.54 goals against average and an .881 save percentage.
The lineup stays the same as last game. Sam Bowness, Ross Campbell and Lucas Romeo all remain out of the lineup.
Key to victory
This is the first starting streak for Ozols this season. It will be a test of his stamina. Last time Ozols played the Eagles, he was awarded first star for his performance. If he can replicate that, the Isles shouldn’t have a problem coming out on top.
Players to watch
CHA – Kyle Powers is hungry for a goal. He has 11 assists in the teams first 21 games, but hasn’t hit the back of the net yet. It’s only a matter of time before he pockets one.
Owen Conrad lasered a shot through Mathis Rousseau on Friday night. He knows how to put on a show for the fans. If the rookie can keep up his solid play, it gives the Isles a chance to win night in and night out.
CAP – Antoine Roy has gone five games without a point and he is due. The center had 13 points last season, split between the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and Cape Breton.
Luke Patterson only has four points so far this season, but he scored against the Isles on Friday. He’s going to be on a mission to add another one to his total.
Puck drop at the Centre 200 is at 3:00 p.m.
