QMJHL Releases 2023-24 Regular Season Schedule
The QMJHL has unveiled its 68-game schedule for the 2023-24 season. The Cape Breton Eagles will kick off the new campaign with a pair of home games against the Moncton Wildcats on Friday, September 22nd and Saturday, September 23rd; while the Eagles will first host provincial rival Halifax on Wednesday, October 4th.
The Eagles will play each of the 12 Québec based teams once away and once at home, with the remainder of the schedule being games against Maritime clubs. Blainville-Boisbriand will be the first non-Maritime team to visit the Nest on Friday, October 6th, and the defending Gilles-Courteau Trophy champions, Québec Remparts will make their lone appearance at Centre 200 on Thursday, January 11th, 2024.
On Saturday, March 9th, the Eagles will play their final home game of the season against the Saint John Sea Dogs. Following the home finale, the Eagles will finish the regular season with a five-game road trip due to the Women’s World Curling Championship taking place at Centre 200.
This season the Eagles will host the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for an 11AM game on Thursday, October 19th. With the exception of that game, all weekday games will be played with 7PM starts. In total the Eagles will play at home four times on Wednesday, five times on Thursday, and nine times on Friday.
The Eagles will play at home on Sunday seven times this season, all scheduled 3 PM starts. The Eagles will also have nine home games on Saturday, all 7PM starts except the December 30th clash against the Mooseheads, which starts at 3PM. The provincial rivals are returning to the tradition of a holiday series, as the Eagles visit the capital city on New Year’s Eve.
