Eagles Restructure Scouting Department; Add Three New Scouts
The Cape Breton Eagles are excited to announce the re-structuring of their Scouting Department.
Patrick Leblond, formerly the Head Scout for Quebec, will now be the Director of Scouting & Hockey Ops Admin for the Cape Breton Eagles, while Jonathan Murphy will be the Head Scout of the Eagles. The Eagles are also excited to announce the return of Sam Foster as Scout for the Maritimes area, and Olivier Bélanger as Quebec Regional Scout.
The Eagles also announce the hiring of three new Scouts to the Hockey Operations staff. Jérémy Manseau will be the new Quebec Centre Scout, Alexandre Morand as the Scout for the Trois-Rivières region, and Pat Black as Scout for QJHLAAA.
“We are extremely excited to have these new additions to our scouting staff,” says GM Sylvain Couturier. “All of these scouts are high quality individuals and are passionate about the game of hockey. Their experience across all levels will enhance our ability to find high-level players for our organization.”
Jérémy Manseau
Jérémy played for the Drummondville Voltigeurs, the Shawinigan Cataractes in the QMJHL and he also played for the St-Jerome Panthers in the QJHL. Since then, he’s heavily involved in hockey coaching at the elite level, spring hockey and on ice skills sessions; his passion level, his experience and his technical skills are a great addition to the Eagles scouting staff.
Alexandre Morand
Alexandre is someone with experience as a player and as a scout, as he played in the MAAA, QCHL and France 3 leagues. He also worked at various levels as a scout starting with Hockey Prospect, Sorel Tracy Rebelles of the QCHL and with the Jonquiere Elites in MAAA. Alex will cover the Trois-Rivières/Québec region and will focus on the goalies evaluation and the RSEQ league.
Pat Black
Pat played in the QMJHL for the Laval Titan and he represented Canada on the International scene as a defenseman. He brings with him 20 years of scouting experience in the QMJHL as he worked with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan for several years where he won the President Cup and Memorial Cup in 2018. His role with the Eagles will be to focus on the QJHLAAA, a league he knows well and where he won the NAPA Cup with the Terrebonne Cobras last year.
