Cataractes and Mooseheads tied at one game apiece
The 2015 President’s Cup Playoffs are in full swing and the Shawinigan Cataractes find themselves in a best-of-seven battle with the Halifax Mooseheads. After splitting the first two games, the series shifts back to the Maritimes for game three with the series tied at 1-1.
In game one, the Mooseheads scored once in each period to top the Cataractes 3-2 in front of their home crowd at the Halifax Forum. Maxime Fortier, Ryan Falkenham, and Danny Moynihan scored for the Mooseheads while Brandon Gignac and Anthony Beauvillier scored for the Cats. Winnipeg Jets prospects Nikolaj Ehlers also notched three assists in the game.
Game two was back in Shawinigan at Centre Gervais Auto and the Cataractes used the home ice to tie the series up with a 4-2 win. Goal scorers for the Cataractes were Gabriel Slight, Zachary Taylor, Brandon Gignac, and Alexis D’Aoust. Ryan Falkenham and Danny Moynihan added singles for Halifax. In the assist departmen, Dylan Labbe had three and Nikolaj Ehlers added a pair.
The next game will go Tuesday at 7pm in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the Halifax Forum.
