Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League and Rogers Sportsnet today announced the February schedule of CHL games that will be broadcast live on Rogers Sportsnet. The schedule includes three games that will be shown to a National audience with five Ontario Hockey League games for Sportsnet Ontario viewers, and three games from the Western Hockey League shown in the Sportsnet West and Pacific regions.

The OHL’s Midwest Division leading London Knights travel to Ottawa to take on the 67’s to open the February schedule this Sunday afternoon, February 1, beginning at 3:00pm ET on RSN Ontario. The Knights are led by OHL All-Star John Tavares who currently leads the league in scoring with 39 goals and 35 assists for 74 points. Logan Couture, a ninth overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft to San Jose responds for the 67’s who currently sit third place in the Eastern Conference.

Wednesday February 4th features games for both the Ontario, Western, and Pacific regions including the 2009 Subway OHL All-Star Classic showcasing the best talent in the OHL’s Eastern Conference taking on the best from the Western Conference live from Windsor, ON at the brand new WFCU Centre at 7:00pm ET on RSN Ontario. The CHL’s top team the Windsor Spitfires play host with five players including World Junior Team Canada gold medalist Ryan Ellis. The Belleville Bulls lead the charge for the Eastern Conference with five players including the OHL’s top goaltender Mike Murphy, and World Junior Team Canada gold medalist defenceman P.K Subban. The WHL game on Wednesday features draft prospect Stefan Elliott of the Saskatoon Blades. The Blades are currently in second place in the Eastern Conference and 9-0-1-0 in their last ten games. They travel to Edmonton to take on the Oil Kings at 7:00pm on RSN West and Pacific.

The National schedule begins Friday February 6 when the London Knights host the Windsor Spitfires in a battle between the top two teams in the OHL. The London Knights take the National stage again on Sunday February 15 when they visit their division rival Kitchener Rangers. The February schedule closes on Sunday February 22 when the Chilliwack Bruins host the Kelowna Rockets and World Junior Team Canada gold medalist Jamie Benn.

CHL fans can also catch the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup on Sportsnet beginning Friday May 15 in Rimouski, Quebec, as the Rimouski Oceanic will be joined by the league champions of the QMJHL, WHL and OHL. The six round-robin games, playoff tiebreaker (if necessary), the semi-final, and championship final will all be televised.
