GRAND FORKS, ND – Late first period goals from Brett Howden (Moose Jaw Warriors) and David Quenneville (Medicine Hat Tigers) put Canada ahead 2-0 before goaltender Evan Fitzpatrick (Sherbrooke Phoenix) completed a stellar 38-save performance in a 3-1 win over the Czech Republic at the 2016 World Under-18 Hockey Championship.

Howden, who was added to Canada’s roster along with defenceman Connor Hall (Kitchener Rangers) on Saturday, would record his second of the game 5:17 into the second period with Mason Shaw (Medicine Hat Tigers) drawing his second assist of the game.
