Wetsch signs entry-level deal with Sharks
Kelowna Rockets captain Carson Wetsch has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the San Jose Sharks.
This past season, Wetsch finished second in scoring among Rockets players with a career high 72 while he also potted 22 goals in 65 games. Acquired in the offseason to strengthen the Rockets roster as 2026 Memorial Cup hosts, Wetsch had previously played 181 games for the Calgary Hitmen after being 12th overall pick in the 2021 WHL Draft.
In all, the 20-year-old has tallied 90 goals and 146 points in 246 WHL contests.
Internationally, Wetsch won gold with Canada at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and 2024 U18 World Championships.
San Jose selected the North Vancouver, B.C., native 82nd overall in the 2024 NHL Draft.
