Rebels’ Fuder and Wutzke sign NHL contracts

The Red Deer Rebels’ Jaxon Fuder and Chase Wutzke have each signed three-year entry-level contracts.

Fuder inked a deal with the Dallas Stars while Wutzke signed with the Minnesota Wild.

In his rookie WHL season last year, Fuder played 46 games where he scored 11 goals and recorded 26 points. At season’s end, he was the recipient of the Darcy Robinson Award that is given out to the team’s most underrated player each year. The Cold Lake, AB., native went undrafted at the 2025 NHL Draft but impressed at the Stars’ recent development camp and subsequently signed with the club.

Wutzke has spent the past four seasons with the Rebels after being a second round selection in the 2021 WHL Draft. A year ago, he posted a 17-25-5 record but across 93 career games, owns a 40-35-8 record alongside a 3.21 GAA. Wutzke ranks 10th all-time in Rebels career wins.

Minnesota selected the Debden, SK,. native 142nd overall in the 2024 NHL Draft.
