CHL to NHL: Memorial Cup champion Gaucher makes NHL debut with Ducks
Former Quebec Remparts forward Nathan Gaucher made his NHL debut with the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday night.
In a 4-3 loss to San Jose, Gaucher played 7:08 and recorded one block and one hit.
The eighth overall pick in the 2019 QMJHL Draft, Gaucher made 199 appearances with the Remparts and tallied 158 points (80 goals). In 2021-22, he had a career high 31 goals and 57 points while a year later, he had 46 points in 44 games before he tallied another 16 in the postseason as the Remparts won the Gilles-Courteau Trophy. In their 2023 Memorial Cup triumph, he scored twice and had three points in four games. That same season, he collected the QMJHL’s Guy Carbonneau Trophy as the league’s best defensive forward.
Internationally, he is a two-time World Juniors gold medallist (2022, 2023).
As a pro, the 22-year-old made 185 appearances in the AHL with the San Diego Gulls before his NHL debut.
Anaheim selected Richelieu, QC., native 22nd overall at the 2022 NHL Draft.
