CHL to NHL: Hinds makes NHL debut with Anaheim
Former Shawinigan Cataractes, Rimouski Oceanic and Sherbrooke Phoenix defeneman Tyson Hinds made his NHL debut with the Anaheim Ducks Saturday.
In a 5-3 loss to Calgary, Hinds played 23:22 and recorded four shots, one block and one hit.
Selected 30th overall in the 2019 QMJHL Draft, Hinds played 204 games in the league where he tallied 31 goals and 116 points. In his final season in 2022-23 with Sherbrooke, he recorded a career high 54 points and collected the Kevin Lowe Trophy as the Q’s best defensive defenceman.
Internationally, the Gatineau, QC., native won gold with Canada at the 2023 World Juniors.
Ahead of his NHL debut, Hinds played 204 AHL games with the San Diego Gulls. He was the 76th overall pick by Anaheim in the 2021 NHL Draft.
