Four CHL players named to Switzerland’s 2026 preliminary World Juniors rosters

Four CHL players have been named to Switzerland’s preliminary roster for the 2026 World Juniors in Minneapolis, MN.

Kitchener goaltender Christian Kirsch, Rouyn-Noranda defenceman Guus van der Kaaij and forward Lars Steiner, as well as Drummondville forward David Bosson, are all on the shortlist to represent their country at this year’s tournament.

The Swiss have reached the quarterfinals in the previous four editions of the tournament while their best ever result was a bronze medal in 1998.

Swizterland are in Group B alongside Canada, Sweden, Slovakia and Germany. The 2026 World Juniors takes place Dec. 26 – Jan. 5 in Minneapolis, MN.
