Former QMJHL champion Booth debuts with Kings
Former Shawinigan Cataractes and Baie-Comeau Drakkar defenceman Angus Booth scored in his NHL debut with the LA Kings Monday night.
In a 4-2 loss to Colorado, Booth played 12:28 and scored on his lone shot at 8:32 of the second period. He also recorded one block and two hits.
Booth spent the majority of his QMJHL career with Shawinigan and made 168 of 198 league appearances with the Cataractes. In 2022, he was part of Shawinigan’s QMJHL champion squad. The 21-year-old was traded to Baie-Comeau at the 2024 QMJHL trade deadline where he played 30 games and helped the team to the QMJHL’s finals that year.
As a pro, Booth had played 93 games in the AHL with the Ontario Reign before his NHL debut where he had three goals and 23 points.
The Kings selected the Montreal native 116th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft.
