Elite Prospects names 39 CHL players in 2027 NHL Draft Preseason Top 64
A total of 39 CHL players have been named in Elite Prospect’s 2027 NHL Draft ranking and players to watch list.
The list is led by Everett’s Landon DuPont who earlier this summer captained Canada to gold at the 2026 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and helped the Silvertips to its first WHL title last season.
“At this point, Landon DuPont needs no introduction,” wrote Mitchell Brown, Elite Prospect’s Head of Scouting and Pro content. “He’s an elite skater with the pace to match, making high-skill plays at a speed very few match. Coupled with his non-stop activation, shifts where he’s not making an impact are a rarity. Defensively, his game arguably shines even more, emphatically winning battles and dislodging pucks before breaking ankles on the exit.”
Guelph’s Jaakko Wycisk is the next highest ranked CHL player at no. 5 after he impressed as a rookie with the Storm a year ago.
“A top playmaker in the class and one of its best stickhandlers, Wycisk also boasts the physical skills and the frame necessary to become a true, top-six power playmaker,” Brown wrote.
Quebec’s Carter Meyer (no. 6), Prince Albert’s Brock Cripps (no. 8) and Medicine Hat’s Noah Davidson (no. 10) are also included in the Top 10. Additionally, 10 of the Top 18 players are CHLers,
The 2027 NHL Draft will take place next June in a yet to be determined location.
