CHL Today: Knights winning streak hits 11 games
CHL Top 10
- The London Knights (2)‘ winning streak hit 11 games after a 4-0 victory over Guelph. London are the only OHL club to have 15 wins this season.
- The Drummondville Voltigeurs’ (3) two-game winning streak was snapped after a 4-2 loss to Baie-Comeau. The Volts top the Western Conference with 15 wins.
- The Prince George Cougars (4) saw its 6-0-2 streak come to an end after a 5-4 loss to Kelowna. The Cougars’ 29 points are the second most in the WHL.
- A 5-2 win over Seattle extended the Everett Silvertips’ (5) winning streak to three games. Everett’s 99 goals are the most in the WHL.
- The Tri-City Americans (8) suffered a second straight loss after they dropped a 2-1 decision to Saskatoon. Previously, the Americans’ had won 12 straight.
- Raphael Precourt stopped all 21 shots he saw as the Chicoutimi Sagueneens (10) blanked Sherbrooke 4-0. Chicoutimi are third in the QMJHL’s Eastern Conference with 13 wins and 30 points.
NHL prospect watch
- Nick Lardis (CHI) passed the 100 goal mark in his OHL career after he had a hat-trick in Brantford’s 5-3 win over Brampton. Lardis has 17 goals in 18 games this season.
- Joey Willis (NSH) – who scored five times Nov. 13 – had his second hat-trick of the week as Saginaw took down Sarnia 9-3. Willis has 12 goals and 23 points this season. His teammate, Zayne Parekh (CGY), had three points (1G, 2A) in the win.
- Justin Poirier (CAR) had three points (2G, 1A) as Baie-Comeau defeated Drummondville 4-2 in a rematch of the 2024 Gilles Courteau Trophy final. Poirier leads the Q in goals (20) and points (35).
- After he had a hat-trick Nov. 15, Tomas Mrsic’s (STL) impressive week continued with a four-point (2G, 2A) outing for Prince Albert in a 4-1 win over Edmonton. Mrsic leads the Raiders in goals (13) and points (25).
Nightly notes
- Austin Elliott recorded his first OHL shutout Saturday after he made 27 saves in London’s 4-0 win against Guelph. Elliott, who tallied four shutouts in the WHL with Saskatoon, is 7-0-0 with a .902 save percentage and 2.43 GAA.
- Philippe Veilleux had four points (2G, 2A) to power Val-d’Or to a 6-3 win over Gatineau. Veilleux leads the Foreurs in goals (10) and points (21).
- Vincent Gladu turned aside 32 shots as Blainville-Boisbriand blanked Cape Breton 4-0. Gladu owns a 7-2-0 record alongside a 2.34 GAA and .919 save percentage.
CHL USA Prospects Challenge
- Jake O’Brien (2025) collected a trio of assists in Brantford’s victory over Brampton. The 2024 OHL Rookie of the Year has 23 points (10 goals) in 19 games in his sophomore season.
- Carter Bear (2025) had his second hat-trick of the season in Everett’s 5-2 win against Seattle. Bear has 19 goals in 20 games and is tied second in WHL scoring with 35 points.
- Cameron Schmidt (2025) had a pair of goals and an assist as Vancouver collected a point in a 6-5 overtime loss to Portland. Schmidt leads the WHL with 22 goals.
