- The Moncton Wildcats (1) pushed its streak to 4-0-1 after a 7-4 win over Val-d’Or. The Wildcats’ 12 wins are tied for the QMJHL lead.
- The Brampton Steelheads (10) were beaten 5-3 by Sarnia Saturday. Despite a 7-5-1 record, the Steelheads are the third highest scoring team in the OHL.
NHL prospect watch
- Zayne Parekh (CGY) had three points (1G, 2A) as Saginaw beat Owen Sound 6-2. The reigning CHL Defenceman of the Year sits tied fifth in OHL scoring among d-men with 15 points.
- Owen Allard (UTA) led the way offensively for the Soo with three points (1G, 2A) in a 4-0 win against Flint. Allard has three goals and seven points in just five games this season.
Nightly notes
- Marco Mignosa had four points (1G, 3A) for the Soo in a 4-0 road win over Flint. Mignosa – who only made his season debut Oct. 23 – has made up for lost time with 11 points in five games.
- Shawinigan d-man Jordan Tourigny had a hat-trick and an assist in a 5-0 win over Quebec. Tourigny, who was crowned a QMJHL champion in 2022 with the Cataractes, has 11 points (four goals) in 14 games.
- Antonin Verreault – who won the QMJHL scoring race a year ago with 107 points – had two goals and two assists to lead Rouyn-Noranda to a 5-0 victory over Saint John. Verreault leads the Q in scoring again this year with 29 points.
- Wenatchee’s Miles Cooper had his first WHL hat-trick in an 7-3 win against Edmonton. Cooper – who scored 18 times last season – has eight goals in 16 games in 2024-25.
CHL USA Prospects Challenge
- Caleb Desnoyers (2025) had his first QMJHL hat-trick – alongside a career high five points – in Moncton’s 7-4 win over Val-d’Or. Desnoyers has 10 goals and 20 points in 12 games this year.
- Cameron Schmidt (2025) registered his third career WHL hat-trick – and first of 2024-25 – as Vancouver beat Moose Jaw 6-2. Schmidt’s 17 goals leads the WHL.
