CHL to NHL: Former Blazers’ captain Emmitt Finnie suits up with Red Wings
Kamloops Blazers forward Emmitt Finnie made his NHL debut with the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday.
The 201st overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft had one shot and one hit in 12:22 minutes of ice-time in a 5-1 loss.
The Lethbridge, AB, native is coming off of the best year of his WHL career as he concluded the 2024-25 campaign with 37 goals and 84 points in 55 games. A fourth round pick in the 2020 WHL Draft, Finnie has totalled 184 points (65 goals) in 229 games with the Blazers.
The 20-year-old has also suited up in 13 games with the AHL’s Grand Rapid Griffins scoring a goal and five points.
