CHL to NHL: Douglas breaks through with Tampa Bay
Former Windsor Spitfires’ forward Curtis Douglas made his NHL debut with the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.
The 25-year-old Douglas had 11 shifts in 5:09 minutes of ice-time adding one shot, two hits and a fighting misconduct in a 5-4 Lightning loss.
The hulking 6’9, 243lbs forward skated in 247 OHL games split between the Barrie Colts and then the Windsor Spitfires. The Oakville, ON native had 168 points, scoring 83 times in the OHL.
Douglas was originally selected 106th overall by the Dallas Stars in the 2018 NHL Draft.
