CHL to NHL: Clattenburg debuts with Oilers
Former Soo Greyhounds and Flint Firebirds forward Connor Clattenburg made his NHL debut with the Edmonton Oilers Saturday night.
In a 6-3 win over Florida, Clattenburg played 5:47 and tallied two shots, one block and one hit.
A 10th round pick by the Soo in the 2021 OHL Draft, Clattenburg made 172 appearances in the league. He spent the first year and half of his career with the Greyhounds before we moved to the Firebirds at the 2023 OHL Trade Deadline. His final season in the OHL in 2024-25 was his most productive where, as Flint captain, he produced a career high 16 goals and 35 points albeit in just 46 games.
As a pro, the 20-year-old has made 16 appearances in the AHL with Bakersfield. He scored his first professional goal Nov. 1.
The Ottawa, ON., native was the 160th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
