CHL to NHL: Chernyshov registers assist in Sharks debut
Former Saginaw Spirit forward Igor Chernyshov made his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks Tuesday night.
In a 6-3 win over Calgary, Chernyshov played 12:20 and recorded an assist and one shot.
The 20-year-old’s time in the OHL was short – he played 23 games in 2024-25 but was incredibly impactful where he had 19 goals and 55 points.
Ahead of his NHL debut, the Penza, Russia native had 23 goals (11 points) in 25 points with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda.
Chernyshov was the 33rd overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
