CHL to NHL: Catton records point in Kraken debut

Former Spokane Chiefs captain Berkly Catton made his NHL debut with the Seattle Kraken Monday.
In a 5-2 loss to Philadelphia, Catton recorded an assist in 13:49 of ice time alongside one shot and one block.
The first overall pick in the 2021 WHL Draft, Catton starred across four seasons in Spokane. In 197 games, he recorded 284 points – tied for the eighth most in franchise history – while his 116 goals are 10th most.
A two-time CHL Second All-Star, Catton also claimed the CHL and WHL’s Most Sportmanslike Player award in 2024-25 while he led the WHL in scoring with 42 points as the Chiefs reached the Championship Series.
Internationally, Catton captained Canada to gold at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and also medalled at the 2022 World U17 Hockey Challenge (silver) and 2023 U18 World Championships (bronze).
Seattle selected Catton eighth overall in the 2024 NHL Draft.
