Celebrating the incredible women across the CHL on 2026 International Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day, we celebrate the incredible women across the Canadian Hockey League that make a difference on a day-to-day basis.
At the CHL office, nine women hold impactful roles in a variety of departments where they act as difference-makers in their areas of expertise.
“Hockey is built on teamwork, and the CHL is no different,” said CHL Director, Marketing & Communications Nikki deCarle. “Women across the CHL, the Member Leagues, and all 61 Clubs are shaping every aspect of the game. I’m proud to work alongside colleagues who lead by example—showing up with accountability, consistency, and the kind of teamwork that makes the game better. We do this work with intention, and with a commitment to keep moving the game forward—for the players, for the fans, and for building a culture that reflects the diversity of perspectives that strengthens our game.
“Today we celebrate that impact and we’ll keep pushing for a sport where opportunity matches the depth of talent.”
In addtion to deCarle, Carla Keller, Tiffany Gordon, Krystina Elbertsen, Madeline Rawson, Andrea Crema, Steph Keller, Stephanie Friedman and Lee-Anne Pastushak direct efforts in the area of finance, events, administration, marketing, digital and corporate partnerships.
Their presence brings new perspectives, leadership styles and ideas that help hockey evolve and connect with broader audiences. As the game continues to expand globally, the contributions of the CHL’s female employees are helping drive innovation, inclusivity and long-term growth throughout the hockey community.
Furthermore, women also hold prominent roles across the OHL, QMJHL and WHL in officiating as well as hockey and business operations.
