Alexander Radulov Named the CHL Player of the Week
Toronto – The Canadian Hockey League announced today that Quebec Remparts forward Alexander Radulov is the CHL Player of the Week.
Radulov, 19, scored eight goals and had 14 points in three victories last week. In a 7-4 win over Baie-Comeau, Radulov contributed a pair of goals and four helpers. In his next contest, Radulov established a modern-day record for the Remparts when he tallied six goals. He would also add an assist in an 11-2 win over Drummondville. Finally on Sunday, the Quebec forward contributed an assist in a 4-1 win over Chicoutimi before leaving the game with an injury.
Radulov, a first round draft choice of the Nashville Predators in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft is currently fourth in QMJHL scoring. 13 games into the season Radulov has 17 goals and 35 points. Last season Radulov finished the year with 32 goals and 75 points and finished third amongst rookies in scoring.
Jason Churchill of the Saint John Sea Dogs was the QMJHL’s Defensive Player of the Week after posting a 1.00 goals against average in a pair of wins last week. Michael Blunden of the Erie Otters was the OHL Player of the Week after scoring five goals and 11 points in three games and John Lammers of the Everett Silvertips was the WHL Player of the Week after scoring five goals and 11 points in four games.
