Young people are making a noticeable contribution to the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup
The School Exhibit, presented by GP, was created by students from the local school district and includes 45 booths set up in the Claire-L’Heureux-Dubé Building. The central theme for all the projects is… hockey!
r
The first glance as you walk in is instantly impressive. Hockey jerseys are suspended from the ceiling on hockey sticks, giving the gymnasium a style perfectly suited to the occasion.
r
The participants have addressed every aspect of the hockey theme, whether historical, scientific or artistic. Some students have produced caricature drawings of the players. Others painted portraits of the players, working in pairs of one 3rd grader with one 6th grader. An amazing replica of the Colisée of Rimouski was constructed by one group, and another group created a model of the Green Cup to explain environmental issues. From team mascots to the history of the franchises, from the development of equipment to the great moments in the history of the Océanic club, the students clearly devoted immense time and effort to producing such outstanding projects.
r
Visitors will be amazed by both the quality and scope of the work done by the community’s young people. The head coach of the Océanic and the president of the Memorial Cup Organizing Committee were among the first visitors who all shared the same reaction: “It’s really impressive!”
r
To see all the extraordinary and fascinating projects, head over to the School Exhibit presented by GP in the Claire-L’Heureux-Dubé Building, just steps away from the Colisée of Rimouski.

The GP School Exhibit is open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
