The Subway Ball Hockey Tournament in Full Swing
Almost fifty teams are registered for the Subway Ball Hockey Tournament, which will take place over the nine days of MasterCard Memorial Cup competition. Organized into several age categories, the games are being played with great intensity as spectators urge on their favourite teams with enthusiastic applause.
r
Among the notables participating in the tournament is Mr. Hugues St-Pierre, president of the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup Organizing Committee. As the captain of an emeritus team in the 50 and over category, Mr. St-Pierre will doubtless display his hockey skills by sending a few shots into the net in a game that will surely be hotly contested.
r
Guillaume Théberge, a participant registered in the 12¬–15 year-old category, said about the tournament, “It’s a blast because the results of the games will be decided at random. Even the losing team has a chance to win. Participation takes priority over competition”.
r
The play-by-play for the games will be called by Mr. Jacques Montpetit, a veteran sports commentator from the Rock Détente radio station in Rimouski. Given Mr. Montpetit’s well-known enthusiasm and colourful personality, spectators can count on a good show.

The Subway Ball Hockey Tournament, whose winner will be determined at random, will reward the luckiest players with three hockey jerseys signed by the 2008-2009 Océanic team. In addition, three tickets to the final game of the 2009 MasterCard Memorial Cup will be presented.
