Road to the 2015 MasterCard Memorial Cup on Sportsnet
TORONTO (March 26, 2015) Sportsnet’s journey to the 2015 MasterCard Memorial Cup begins this weekend as the first place Oshawa Generals host their neighbouring rivals, the Peterborough Petes in Game 1 and 2 of the best of seven first round Ontario Hockey League series. Coverage kicks off on Friday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet East, Ontario, Pacific and Sportsnet NOW.
The competition continues to heat up the following week when the WHL’s top ranked Brandon Wheat Kings (53-11-4) visit the defending champion Edmonton Oil Kings for Game 4 and 5* of the Western Hockey League series, with coverage beginning Tuesday, March 31 at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West, Sportsnet NOW (for full scheduling details, please see below).
Sportsnet’s first post-season Friday Night Hockey broadcast will be hosted by Jeff Marek alongside analyst Damien Cox and Todd Warriner in studio. Play-by-play announcer R.J. Broadhead, game analyst Sam Cosentino and reporter Shawn McKenzie will bring hockey fans closer to the action in Oshawa.
Throughout the regular season and playoffs, Sportsnet brings fans the biggest and best coverage of the CHL, featuring premiere Friday Night Hockey matchups from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, and the Western Hockey League. Sportsnet is also the destination of complete coverage of the 2015 MasterCard Memorial Cup, May 21-31 in Quebec City, QC. More playoff broadcasts will be announced in the coming weeks.
