Draisaitl helped the Raiders win both of their games last week over WHL East Division opponents helping the club improve their record to 17-9-2-0 just one point out of first place. On Friday night Draisaitl picked up three points as first star of a 7-6 win over the Regina Pats scoring two crucial goals including both the game-tying and game-winning goal in overtime. On Saturday night in Brandon, he scored another two goals and added two big assists on Chance Braid’s game-tying goal with just 12 seconds to play in regulation time also setting up Sawyer Lange’s game-winning goal just 18 seconds into the extra frame to earn second star honours in the Raiders’ 5-4 overtime win over the Wheat Kings.
Draisaitl, an 18-year-old from Cologne, Germany, is playing in his second WHL season with the Raiders. The club’s leading scorer, Draisaitl is tied for sixth in league scoring with 15 goals and 27 assists for 42 points in 28 games.
