CHL stars representing at World Junior Showcase
47 players from across the Canadian Hockey League have arrived in Kamloops, British Columbia, to don the sweaters of their country at the 2018 World Junior Showcase.
The event features Canada, Finland, Sweden, and the United States, serving as a testing ground for the 2019 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship in December, to be played this season in Vancouver and Victoria.
Of the 47 CHL players participating, 26 are from the Ontario Hockey League, 12 are from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, and nine are from the Western Hockey League.
“This week is a tremendous opportunity for our players, and an important step for our scouting and coaching staff,” said Scott Salmond, Hockey Canada’s senior vice-president, national teams. “The chance to play against Finland, Sweden, and Team USA will aid in our evaluation process as we look to put together a team of the best junior players who will represent our country in December.”
