CHL prospects competing at Hockey Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp


112 players are currently participating in Hockey Canada’s National Under-17 Development Camp in Calgary.

All 112 are Canadian Hockey League prospects selected among the three league drafts this spring including 55 from the Ontario Hockey League, 29 from the Western Hockey League, and 28 from the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

The week-long camp began on Saturday with 12 goaltenders, 37 defencemen, and 63 forwards, all split into six teams for on and off-ice training, fitness testing, classroom sessions, practices, and intrasquad games.

9:45 pm – Team Black vs Team White

Friday July 27:
11:30 am – Team Blue vs Team Gold
12:45 pm – Team Black vs Team Red
2:15 pm – Team Green vs Team White

Following the development camp, players will continue to be evaluated through the early season before 66 are named to one of three Canadian national teams – Team Canada Black, Team Canada Red, and Team Canada White – who will compete at the 2018 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge scheduled for Nov. 3-10 in Saint John and Quispamsis, N.B.
