The Canadian Hockey League’s Player of the Week for the week endingrNov. 18 is forward Yanick Lehoux of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar of therQuebec Major Junior Hockey League.r
Lehoux had six goals and six assists for 12 points in justrthree games this past week to earn top honours. It’s the third time inrthe six weeks that a QMJHL player has won the CHL’s weekly honour.r
The Drakkar forward tied a QMJHL record last season with 11rshorthanded goals and remarkably, is only one goal away from tying thatrrecord this season. Lehoux already has 10 shorthanded goals in 27rgames, leaving him four away from tying the CHL record set by AndyrStewart of Prince Albert of the Western Hockey League in 1983-84.r
Lehoux scored another two shorthanded goals this past week torearn QMJHL Offensive Player of the Week honours (see below), whilerpicking up points on 12 of his team’s 15 goals. He beat out JasonrSpezza of the Windsor Spitfires, the Ontario Hockey League’s Player ofrthe Week, goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury of the Cape Breton ScreamingrEagles, the QMJHL Defensive Player of the Week and the Western HockeyrLeague Player of the Week, goaltender Jason Stone of the KelownarRockets.r

The Western Hockey League’s Player of the Week is goaltender Jason Stone of the Kelowna Rockets for the week ending Nov. 18.r
Stone earned the Player of the Week honours by recording ar1.22 goals against average and a .947 save percentage in four gamesrthis past week. Stone helped the Rockets to post three wins and a tierin their four games.r
Stone’s big week started Nov. 13 when he made 18 saves in ar3-3 tie at Vancouver. The next night he made 28 saves in a 5-1 win overrthe Portland Winter Hawks in Portland.r
On Nov. 17, Stone made 21 saves in a 3-0 shutout victoryragainst the visiting Calgary Hitmen. On Nov. 18, he picked up his thirdrwin of the week while making 23 saves in a 4-1 win over the Giants inrVancouver.r
The 19-year-old native of Duncan, British Columbia is a free agent.r

Spezza, 18, a first round draft choice of the Ottawa Senatorsrof the NHL, had four goals and three assists in three road games duringrthe week. The centre now has 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points inrjust 19 games this season.r
Spezza’s big week began Nov. 16 when he had two assists in ar5-2 victory over the 67’s at Ottawa. He followed that up with a goalrduring Windsor’s 5-4 loss at Belleville on Nov. 17 before finishing hisrweek with a three goal, one assist effort at Toronto against the St.rMichael’s Majors Nov. 18.r

Lehoux took top honours in both the QMJHL and the CHL forrpicking up 12 points in just three games last week, including sixrgoals. The QMJHL defensive Player of the Week is goaltender Marc-AndrerFleury of the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.r
Lehoux’s six goals included two shorthanded goals and tworgame-winners, including one in overtime. The Los Angeles Kings draftrpick started his big week with a four-point effort (one goal and threerassists) in a 5-4 loss to Rouyn-Noranda Nov. 15.r
On Nov. 17, Lehoux fired a hat trick in a 5-2 victory overrthe Val-d’Or Foreurs, with two of those goals coming shorthanded andrthe other the game winning tally. He continued his offensive explosionrNov. 18 by scoring two goals and three assists in a 6-5 overtime winragainst Hull, including the winning goal in overtime.r
Lehoux wound up figuring in 12 of his team’s 15 goals duringrthe three-game span. He has 46 points in 22 games so far this season,rincluding 27 goals, 10 of them shorthanded. That’s just one shorthandedrgoal away from the QMJHL record he tied last season.r
Fleury was also outstanding in his two games last week, as herstopped 85 of the 88 shots he faced. He wound up with one win and anrovertime loss with a goals against average of 1.46 and a .966 saverpercentage.r
Fleury made 54 saves in a 2-1 overtime loss to the QuebecrRemparts Nov. 16 and followed that performance with a 31 save effort onrNov. 18 during a 4-1 win over Sherbrooke. His .904 save percentage isrthe fifth best in the QMJHL this season.r
