6 CHL Players Named to U.S Under-18 Select Team

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that six CHL players will compete for Team USA at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament August 10-15, 2015, in Breclav, Czech Republic, and Piestany, Slovakia.
The 22-player roster announcement was made by USA Hockey on Thursday following the completion of the Boys’ Select 17 Player Development Camp which took place at the Northtown Center in Williamsville, N.Y.
Representing the CHL are goaltender Stephen Dhillon of the Niagara IceDogs, defenceman Benjamin Gleason of the London Knights and forwards Tim Gettinger (Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds), Drake Rymsha (London Knights), Cameron Dineen (North Bay Battalion) and Kailer Yamamoto (Spokane Chiefs).
Dhillon, Gleason, Gettinger Rymsha and Dineen are all eligible for the 2016 NHL Draft, while Yamamoto, who was born in late September 1998, is eligible in 2017.
The six CHL players listed include five from the Ontario Hockey League and one from the Western Hockey League. Five of the players listed competed in the CHL this past season, while defenceman Cameron Dineen has committed to the OHL’s North Bay Battalion for the 2015-16 season.
The 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup will include teams from Canada, Czech Republic, Finland, Russia, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland and the United States. With a third-place showing in 2014, Team USA has finished in the top three of the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup 12 times since the tournament began in 1991, including a first-place finish in 2003.
